Jude Sullivan Peters, Kannapolis, NC Death and Obituary – The community of Kannapolis, North Carolina, along with a vast network of supporters worldwide, are grieving the loss of Jude Sullivan Peters, lovingly referred to as “Super Jude.” Jude departed this life in January 2026 at the age of 11, closing the chapter on a life that profoundly influenced countless individuals around the globe. In spite of his battle with Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata (RCDP), which is a rare and terminal skeletal disorder, Jude’s tenacity, spirit, and joy created an enduring impact that transcended his young age.
Jude was born and raised in Kannapolis, and he received his RCDP diagnosis just two days after birth. Initially, physicians predicted he would survive only a few weeks, yet Jude surpassed all expectations. Over the span of eleven years, he faced numerous medical hurdles with remarkable bravery, motivating all those who witnessed his story. His family fondly nicknamed him their “Brave Little Warrior,” a title that became synonymous with hope and determination.
Jude’s parents, Hannah and Sully Peters, began to share his journey online through a Facebook page named Praying for Jude Sullivan Peters. What originated as a means to keep relatives and friends informed quickly developed into a global network of support and awareness branded as #JudesTribe. Supporters from all over the world celebrated Jude’s achievements, kept up with his progress, and stood by the family during trying times. Through their openness, the Peters family highlighted RCDP, a condition impacting fewer than 100 children globally, thereby fostering awareness, empathy, and interest in rare genetic conditions.
In spite of his physical challenges, Jude exuded happiness. He had a fondness for vibrant colors, laughter, and the comfort of family and community gatherings. His existence served as a reminder that a life’s worth is not determined by its duration but by the love and inspiration shared with others.
A Celebration of Life service to recognize Jude’s inspiring journey will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in his hometown. This event will be hosted at The Refuge Church, situated at 230 Refuge Way, Kannapolis, NC. The visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM. Guests are encouraged to don bright colors, symbolizing Jude’s cheerful spirit and the vibrant joy he brought to the lives of many.
Jude Sullivan Peters is survived by his adoring parents, extended family, close friends, and a global community forever influenced by his existence. Though his passing brings profound sadness, his legacy lives on through the awareness he generated, the relationships he built, and the bravery he exhibited daily.
As we remember “Super Jude,” the world honors not merely a life fought through great challenges but a spirit that will continuously glow in the hearts of #JudesTribe and far beyond.
