 Chesne Long Caldwell Ohio Death and Obituary – The community of Caldwell, Ohio, is in mourning after the tragic loss of Chesne Hannah Long, a bright and cherished young woman whose life was cut short. Chesne, who was 19 years old, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Although her time was limited, her influence was significant, leaving family, friends, classmates, and church members clutching onto memories of her kindness, warmth, and indomitable spirit.

Chesne was born on August 1, 2006, in Cambridge, Ohio, as the beloved daughter of Brent and Kristen Stephen Long. From a young age, she exuded joy and compassion, possessing a gentle nature that made those around her feel acknowledged and valued. Her infectious laughter, thoughtful demeanor, and soothing presence attracted people to her, creating connections that will not easily fade.

A committed member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, Chesne demonstrated her faith through her actions. She was known for her authenticity, her affection for others, and her quiet resilience. Whether it was by offering support, lending assistance, or simply giving a smile, she exemplified grace well beyond her years.

Chesne graduated from Caldwell High School in 2025, where she excelled both academically and athletically. Finishing Summa Cum Laude, she showcased her determination, discipline, and remarkable intelligence. Her achievements academically paralleled her success on the volleyball court, where she became a skilled player with numerous school records. Teammates and coaches respected her for her leadership, cooperation, and relentless dedication, while fans appreciated her talent and sportsmanship.

In addition to her accomplishments, Chesne found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a profound love for music, which provided her with solace and inspiration. She treasured the time spent with her beloved cat, Luca, and her horse, Saylor, both of which held significant importance in her life. Family vacations to Gatlinburg and Lakewood were annual highlights, creating cherished memories filled with happiness and love.

Chesne was preceded in death by her beloved Pap, Kevin Stephen, whom she saw as a role model; her great-grandfathers, Carl Forshey and Dale Stephen; and her uncle, Darrel Forshey. The memories of these individuals remained close to her heart throughout her journey.

She is survived by her caring parents, Brent and Kristen Long; her devoted brother, Beckett Long; grandparents Galen and Candie Long; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will keep her memory alive.

While her passing creates an enormous void, the legacy of Chesne continues through the lives of those she impacted. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, academic achievements, dedication to sports, compassionate nature, and her unique ability to make others feel genuinely loved.

Visitation will occur on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Home in Caldwell. Following this, funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with burial at Olive Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Caldwell Boosters Volleyball Program in her honor.
