Amanda Conrad Killed in Geary County Motorcycle Crash After Harley-Davidson Loses Control on Rural Curve
Amanda Conrad, 38, of Junction City, died in a motorcycle crash in Geary County, Kansas after being ejected from a Harley-Davidson.
A Sunday evening motorcycle crash in Geary County, Kansas has left a 38-year-old woman dead and a man seriously injured after their bike failed to navigate a curve on a rural stretch of highway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 7:21 p.m. near the intersection of Old Highway 40 and Kansas Falls Road, roughly three miles southwest of Junction City. Investigators reported that a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound when it approached a curve and the rider lost control.
The motorcycle went off course, and both occupants were ejected from the bike following the loss of control, according to the Highway Patrol’s preliminary findings. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and found both individuals with serious injuries.
The passenger, identified as Amanda Whitefoot Conrad, 38, of Junction City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death has left family and the local community mourning a sudden and devastating loss during what was likely an ordinary weekend ride.
The rider, 49-year-old Jeremy W. Williams of Weatherford, Oklahoma, was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Officials have not released an update on his current condition as he continues to receive medical care.
Investigators noted that neither the rider nor the passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities included this detail in their initial report as part of the ongoing effort to determine how the severity of injuries may have been affected.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation. Officials are reviewing roadway conditions, the motorcycle’s handling through the curve, and other possible contributing factors such as speed or rider response in the moments before the crash.
Emergency crews spent time securing the scene and documenting evidence along the rural roadway, which remained partially impacted as investigators reconstructed the sequence of events.
As the investigation continues, the Geary County community is left processing another fatal roadway incident, with loved ones of Amanda Whitefoot Conrad now facing the painful aftermath of a sudden and irreversible loss.
